BRIDGEPORT, Pa. — Defending National Champion the University of California-Davis retains the No. 1 ranking through the fifth week of the 2018 season as the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) releases the Week 4/March 1 Women’s National Collegiate Club Top 20 Poll.
The Aggies (98 points) keep their lead over runner-up California Polytechnic State University (96 points) at two points following one-point margins in the Week 1 and 2 balloting.
The University of California-Los Angeles (91 points) remains at No. 3 and inches closer to UC-Davis and Cal Poly, while Lindenwood University (76 points), the University of Washington (73 points), the University of California (70 points), Pennsylvania State University (78 points) and Grand Valley State University (65 points) readjust to rate at No. 4-to-8, respectively. The University of California-Santa Barbara (61 points) and the University of Michigan (61 points) complete the Top 10 in a tie at No. 9.
San Diego State University (49 points) and California State University-Chico (42 points) continue the trend of a new look Top 20 as the squads rise to No. 11 and 12, respectively, in front of No. 13 the University of California-San Diego (32 points).
The University of Oregon (27 points) and the University of Texas (26 points) come in at No. 14 and 15, while the University of Florida (23 points) and Dartmouth College (23 points) are equals at No. 16. The Colorado School of Mines(19 points) and Texas A&M University (19 points) are tied at No. 18 with the University of Virginia (9 points) completing the Top 20 in the final position.
