Bulldog Boys End Drought With Win Over Aquinas

It's been quite some time since Coach Chris celebrated a victory over the Raiders and this game was a classic.

South Broward 12  STA 9

First Quarter

South Broward comes out smokin', out playing STA in every facet of the game. Team defense was outstanding as the `Dawg's had at least a half dozen field blocks hustling their way to a 6-1 lead. An untrained eye would have said the game was over.

Second Quarter

Either SBHS fell asleep or Aquinas woke up....I'll go with the latter as I heard one of STA's boys yell, "Are we warmed up now" after reeling off 3 consecutive goals. Goalie play was  starting to settle in for both teams as the quarter ended 7-4 `Dawgs.

Third Quarter

Aquinas is rallying hard as South Broward gets a little sloppy. Goalie play is at a fever pitch as thump after thump is heard throughout the complex. STA will not be denied as they out score So. Broward 4 goals to 2 in the 3rd period. The gap is closing in Thump City, 9-8 SBHS.

Fourth Period

"I love the smell of testosterone on the pool deck" is the only way to explain the tone for this last quarter. Goalie play was still solid for both teams...then So. Broward's Bennett Galvan started playing out of his mind. Outside of his 8 blocks, his lightning like reaction for steals and over played balls was on point as time after time he shot out of the goal to snatch another. The Bulldogs were a little much for Aquinas today outscoring them 3 to 1 in the 4th.

Final: South Broward 12  STA 9
