Harvard's Ted Minnis Named to USAWP Staff for FINA Men's World Championship in Hungary

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Ted Minnis, The Friends of Harvard University Water Polo Head Coach, has been appointed as a member of the Team USA Men's National Team coaching staff for the 2017 FINA World Championship held in Budapest, Hungary on Friday-Sunday, July 14-30.

Minnis will serve as a scouting and video coordinator for the U.S. Men's National Team beginning with training trips to Italy and Montenegro before heading to the prestigious international competition in Budapest.

"This is a great professional growth opportunity for me to watch and learn from U.S. head coach Dejan Udovicic as he develops and readies his team for the World Championships," commented Minnis.

The Americans will open play in Group D with Japan, Croatia and Russia. The U.S. plays its first game July 17 against the Croatians, followed by Japan on July 19 and Russia on July 21.

Minnis is the all-time wins leader in Harvard men's and women's water polo history and led the Crimson men to the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Final Four last Fall after capturing the inaugural Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) Championship.
